How can we help?

Everything about running your listing, from the first submission to your own domain.

Getting listed

From the form to a live page in search.

How do I add my business?

Submit the listing form. It is created as Pending and goes live once an admin approves it, after which it appears in search, on its city and category pages and at its own /biz/ address.

  1. 1Sign in first if you want the listing in your dashboard straight away.
  2. 2Open List your business and fill in name, category, city, area, full address and phone.
  3. 3Add opening hours, a short description and tags if you have them; these show on the listing page.
  4. 4Submit. You will see the listing under My listings as Pending review.
List your business
Do I need an account to submit?

No. Anyone can suggest a listing, but an anonymous submission is unclaimed and stays pending until an admin reviews it. If you sign in first the listing is tied to your account and shows in your dashboard as soon as it is approved.

Sign in or create an account
How long does approval take?

Submissions are reviewed by a person in the admin console. There is no fixed SLA; approvals are usually same day. A limit of three new listings per day from one address keeps spam out.

Can I list more than one branch?

Yes. Each branch is its own listing with its own address, hours, reviews and tools. The POS, Orders, Inventory, Customers and Quotations pages show a switcher when you own more than one.

Open My listings
How do I edit my listing?

Everything a customer sees is edited from Settings. Products are edited under Inventory, and your microsite reads the same data.

  1. 1Dashboard → Settings.
  2. 2Business card: name, phone, website, email, address and landmark. Save.
  3. 3About: the description shown on the listing and microsite. Save.
  4. 4Timings: opening and closing time per day, or Closed. Save.
  5. 5Pause listing if you need it out of search for a while; Resume brings it back.

Claiming and verification

Taking control of a listing that already exists.

My business is already listed. How do I claim it?

Send a claim from the listing page. An admin reviews it and, once approved, the listing moves into your dashboard. Five claims per day is the limit.

  1. 1Sign in with the account you want to manage the listing from.
  2. 2Open the listing at /biz/your-business and choose Claim this business.
  3. 3Say how you are connected (owner, manager, agency) and give a phone or email we can check.
  4. 4Watch My listings; the claim shows as pending until an admin decides.
Find your listing
What does the Verified badge mean?

An admin has confirmed the business and its contact details from the admin console. It cannot be bought and does not rate service quality.

Someone else claimed my business.

Submit your own claim with as much evidence as you can: GST certificate, shop licence, Udyam registration or a bill in the business name. Competing claims are decided by an admin on the paperwork.

Contact us about a dispute
Can I pause my listing?

Yes. Pausing takes it out of search and returns a 404 for its page until you resume it. Reviews, sales and quotes are kept.

  1. 1Dashboard → Settings.
  2. 2Pause listing at the bottom of the business card.
  3. 3Resume from the same place when you are ready.
Open Settings

Reviews

Replying, reporting, and what will not be removed.

How do I reply to a review?

Replies are public on your listing page and can be edited later.

  1. 1Dashboard → Reviews.
  2. 2Open the review and write in the reply box.
  3. 3Save. The reply appears under the review with your business name.
Open Reviews
Can a negative review be removed?

Only if it breaks the Content policy: fake, abusive, off-topic, or exposing someone's personal details. A genuine bad experience stays up. Reported reviews go to the admin queue and a person reads them.

  1. 1Dashboard → Reviews.
  2. 2Report on the review.
  3. 3Pick the reason and add a line of context.
  4. 4The review stays visible until an admin decides.
Read the Content policy
How is my rating worked out?

It is the average of all published reviews and is recalculated by the database whenever a review is added, changed or removed. Nobody can type a rating in by hand.

Where can customers see all my reviews?

Your listing shows the latest ones with a See all reviews link. The full page lists every review with the star split and sorting by newest, highest or lowest.

Leads

Enquiries from your listing and microsite.

Where do enquiries land?

Every enquiry from your listing or microsite contact form arrives in Leads with the name, phone or email and message. Call and WhatsApp taps are recorded as leads too, with just the contact details.

Open Leads
How do I track a lead?

Each lead has a status and a notes thread. Statuses feed the charts on the overview.

  1. 1Dashboard → Leads and pick a lead.
  2. 2Change the status: New, Contacted, Quoted, Won or Lost.
  3. 3Add a note after each call so the next person knows where it stands.
  4. 4Filter the inbox by status to see what still needs a call.
Open Leads
Can I export leads?

Yes. Export on the Leads page downloads a CSV of everything in your inbox, on every plan.

Open Leads
Why did a lead say nothing?

It came from a Call or WhatsApp tap rather than the form. The person reached out but did not type a message; you still have their contact so you can follow up.

Point of sale and orders

The free till: selling, receipts, voids and exports.

Is the POS really free?

Yes, on every plan, for as long as your listing is live. No hardware and no per-sale fee. Open it from the Point of sale entry in the dashboard, the POS button in the site header, or the account menu.

Open the POS
How do I record a sale?

Tap tiles to build the ticket, then charge. The sale is numbered, stock is reduced and a receipt appears.

  1. 1Dashboard → Point of sale. Use the search box or group chips to find a product.
  2. 2Tap a tile to add one; use the − and + on the ticket to change quantity.
  3. 3Enter a discount in rupees if you are giving one.
  4. 4Pick the payment method: Cash, UPI or Card (the order is set for your category).
  5. 5Optionally type the customer's name and phone so they appear under Customers.
  6. 6Press Charge. Print the receipt or start a new sale.
Open the POS
Where do the tiles come from?

From your Inventory. Every product with a name and a numeric price becomes a tile. A product priced 'On request' cannot be sold at the till until you give it a number.

Open Inventory
How is tax applied?

The GST rate and label are set for your category by NearbyReview, along with whether your prices already include tax. A discount is taken before tax. The ticket shows the same numbers the receipt prints, and totals are recalculated on the server, never trusted from the screen.

How do I print a receipt?

Only the slip is sent to the printer, sized for 80 mm thermal paper, with your logo if we have it, your address and the footer line set for your category.

  1. 1Right after a sale: press Print on the receipt dialog.
  2. 2Later: Dashboard → Orders, click the sale, press Print in the receipt panel.
  3. 3In the browser print dialog choose your receipt printer, or Save as PDF.
Open Orders
I recorded a sale by mistake.

Void it. The sale stays on record marked Void, tracked stock goes back, and it drops out of revenue, average ticket and top sellers.

  1. 1Dashboard → Orders.
  2. 2Click the sale so its receipt shows on the right.
  3. 3Press Void and type a reason if you want one on the record.
Open Orders
Can I get my sales into Excel?

Yes. The CSV follows the period you have selected on Orders and includes voided sales flagged in a status column so it reconciles against the till.

  1. 1Dashboard → Orders.
  2. 2Pick Today, 7 days, 30 days or All.
  3. 3Click Export CSV next to the order count.
Open Orders
What does Insights show?

The last 30 days: revenue, number of sales, average ticket, a 14-day revenue line, top sellers by revenue, the cash / UPI / card split and any low-stock products. All of it is computed from your recorded sales.

Open Insights

Inventory

Products, prices, stock, cost and restocking.

How do I add or edit products?

The grid edits in place and saves the whole list at once. The same list feeds the till and your microsite's Shop page.

  1. 1Dashboard → Inventory.
  2. 2Add product for a new row, or edit name, description, price, unit, stock, low-at and cost directly.
  3. 3Remove a row with the bin icon.
  4. 4Press Save changes. Nothing is stored until you do.
Open Inventory
Do I have to track stock?

No. Leave In stock blank and the product is Untracked: it never goes out of stock and never triggers an alert. Enter a number and the till stops overselling and warns you when it reaches the Low at value (default 5).

How do I restock?

Restocking records a purchase, raises the stock count and updates the product's cost.

  1. 1Dashboard → Inventory and save any pending edits first.
  2. 2Click the restock icon on the product's row.
  3. 3Enter the quantity received, the unit cost you paid and optionally the supplier.
  4. 4Add stock. The purchase appears under Recent restocks below the grid.
Open Inventory
What is the Margin column?

(Selling price − latest unit cost) ÷ selling price, as a percentage. It shows a dash until a cost is entered and turns red when you are selling below cost.

Customers

Who buys from you and who has been quoted.

Where does the customer list come from?

It is built from your sales and quotations. Enter a name or phone at the till or on a quote and the person appears with their number of sales, total spent, open quotes and last visit. There is no separate customer database to maintain.

Open Customers
How are repeat customers detected?

By phone number when it is given, otherwise by name. Anyone with more than one sale or quote gets the Repeat tag.

Can I contact them from the list?

Yes. Each row with a phone number has Call and WhatsApp buttons, and the search box finds people by name, phone or email.

Open Customers

Quotations

Estimates that customers can accept online.

How do I make a quotation?

Build it from your service menu or custom lines, then save it as a draft or mark it sent.

  1. 1Dashboard → Quotations.
  2. 2Click services in the left panel to add them, or Custom line for one-off work.
  3. 3Adjust quantity, unit price and the note on each line.
  4. 4Enter the customer's name (required), phone and email.
  5. 5Set a discount and how many days the quote is valid.
  6. 6Save draft, or Save & mark sent once it has gone to the customer.
Open Quotations
How do I send it to the customer?

Each saved quote has a private link. The customer opens it without signing in, sees the full document with your logo, can print or save it as PDF, and can Accept or Decline. Your list updates when they answer.

  1. 1Save the quote.
  2. 2Press Share on its row (or Copy share link on the quote page).
  3. 3Paste the link into WhatsApp or email.
Open Quotations
Can I print it?

Yes. Open the quote and press Print / PDF. It prints as an A4 document with your business details and logo, the customer, line items, totals, notes and the terms set for your category.

How are quotes numbered?

Prefix, date and a daily counter, for example QT-260903-001. The prefix is set per category. Editing a quote keeps its number.

What happens when a quote expires?

After the valid-until date the customer's link no longer accepts an answer and the quote shows as Expired in your list.

  1. 1Open the quote and press Edit.
  2. 2Change Valid for to a new number of days.
  3. 3Save changes. The number stays the same, the validity moves.
Open Quotations

Plans and billing

Free, Verified and Sponsored.

What do the plans change?

Free lists your business and includes the POS, inventory, orders, customers and quotation tools. Verified and Sponsored add placement and profile features; the full matrix is on the pricing page.

Compare plans
How do I change plan?

The change is applied to the listing immediately.

  1. 1Dashboard → Settings → Plan.
  2. 2Pick Free, Verified or Sponsored.
  3. 3Choose monthly or yearly billing and confirm.
Open Settings
Where are my invoices?

Settings → Billing lists each invoice with its period, amount and status.

Open Settings
How do I cancel?

The plan runs to the end of the paid period and then drops to Free. Your listing, reviews, sales and quotes are kept.

  1. 1Dashboard → Settings → Plan.
  2. 2Cancel plan.
  3. 3Check the Refund policy if you think a refund applies.
Read the Refund policy

Microsite and custom domain

Your listing as a website, on your own address.

What is the microsite?

Every published listing has a full website at /site/your-slug: Home, About, Services with a page per service, Projects when you have a portfolio, Shop when you have products, and Contact. It is themed by your category and uses the same data as your listing, so editing Settings or Inventory updates it.

Find your microsite link
How do I connect my own domain?

Until the provider confirms the DNS records, the microsite is only served at /site/your-slug. Once Active, visitors to your domain see it directly.

  1. 1Dashboard → Settings → Domain.
  2. 2Enter the hostname, for example www.yourshop.in, and add it.
  3. 3Create the DNS records shown (usually a CNAME for www, an A record for the root) at your registrar.
  4. 4Press Refresh after a few minutes. The status turns Active when the certificate is issued.
Open Settings
How long does DNS take?

Usually minutes, sometimes up to 48 hours depending on your registrar. The status comes from the hosting provider, not from a DNS lookup, so Refresh is the way to re-check.

Does a custom domain cost extra?

Not from us. You pay your registrar for the domain.

Mobile

Using NearbyReview on a phone.

Is there an app?

Native iOS and Android apps are in development and not yet in the stores. The site, dashboard, POS and quotation maker are built for phones and tablets.

  1. 1Open nearbyreview.in in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iOS) and sign in.
  2. 2Android: menu → Add to Home screen. iOS: Share → Add to Home Screen.
  3. 3Launch it from the icon like any app; the dashboard opens where you left it.
Open the dashboard
Can I run the till on a phone?

Yes. The POS lays out as tiles above the ticket on small screens and works with any printer the phone can reach, including Bluetooth thermal printers set up in the phone's print service.
