How we choose our picks

Every guide on the blog follows the same seven rules. They exist so a reader can check our work — and so a business knows exactly what earns a recommendation.

The rules

Only verified directory listings

A business can only be a pick if it is a listing in this directory with a real, visitable address and working contact details. If we cannot place it on a map, we do not recommend it.

Published facts only

Every price, credential, award and client name in a guide comes from the business's own published material or a verifiable third party — and we say which. If a business publishes no number, we write "on enquiry", never an estimate dressed as a fact.

Real quotes, never invented ones

Review quotes are reproduced from published reviews and attributed. We do not paraphrase sentiment into stronger claims, and we do not write testimonials.

One clear pick

A shortlist of twenty names is not a recommendation. Each guide names one pick, shows the checklist it was held to, and names the credible alternatives with the same public facts — so the reader can disagree with us using the same evidence.

No pay-for-placement

Businesses cannot buy a pick, and sponsored placement in the directory is labelled where it appears. Guides carry no affiliate links.

Dated and corrected

Every guide shows its last-updated date, and its structured data carries the same. When a reader shows us something wrong, we correct the guide and update the date rather than quietly editing.

Medical content is held to a higher bar

Guides about clinics describe published credentials, registrations and accreditations — they do not give medical advice. Treatment decisions belong in a consultation room; our job ends at helping you verify who you are consulting.
